SCNX Minecraft status checker

What this is

This server checks whether Minecraft servers are online, for Discord bots hosted on SCNX. A Discord community adds its Minecraft server to its bot, and the bot then shows the server's status and player count in Discord.

What it sends

• Java Edition: one standard server list ping over TCP, the same request the Minecraft multiplayer screen sends.
• Bedrock Edition: one standard unconnected ping over UDP, the same request the Bedrock server list sends.

Each server is checked at most a few times per hour. This service never logs in, never joins a server and never contacts other ports or services.

Why you might see this address

If this address appears in your server logs, firewall or intrusion detection, someone has added your server's address to a Discord bot on SCNX so their community can see whether it is online. The traffic is the same status request any Minecraft client makes when it lists your server.

Stop the checks

If you run a server and do not want it checked, request an opt-out. Once your request is handled, this service stops contacting your server.
